Incident
At approximately 2:30 AM on July 20, 2025, the MIT Police responded to the intersection of Albany Street and Massachusetts Avenue. The victim stated that he was waiting at the bus stop near that intersection and witnessed a disturbance between two individuals. The victim approached the disturbance and was struck in the mouth by one of the individuals, who then fled on foot. The victim of the assault was transported to the hospital.
The MIT Police and Cambridge Police are continuing to investigate this incident.

Male, 5’6” - 5’7”, Hispanic, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

- If you feel threatened on campus, look for a Blue Light emergency telephone or dial 100 from any Institute telephone.
- Utilize SafeRide or public transportation.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Let your friends know when you are leaving and arriving at your destination at the end of the night.
- The MIT Police want to remind the community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.
